Center's of Excellence

Digitech's ' Centers of Excellence (CoE) is the body that focus on extending our delivery competence around specific and focused technology areas.

Java Enterprise has become the de-facto standard for building enterprise applications. Evolution of the Java Enterprise platform through the community process has made it intricate and feature-rich. There is a need to proactively monitor the Java Enterprise technology platform to provide effective IT solutions to customers
Key value-adds of Java Enterprise technology:

  • Puts Java Enterprise application development on fast track
  • De-risks Java Enterprise technology adoption and standardization needs
  • Improves responsiveness to fast-changing business needs and market dynamics
  • Unleashes the potential of existing IT investments
  • Acts as a transformation partner in realizing the vision of an agile IT enterprise

TThe Java Enterprise Center of Excellence (CoE) at SETlabs, Digitech's' research group, pursues projects in multiple areas. The CoE has been established with the objective of partnering with customers to realize business benefits through effective adoption of Java Enterprise technology.

Application Development and Maintenance

Focuses on better and faster mechanisms to deliver software. Addresses enterprise challenges and tracks new trends in the Java enterprise technology space by combining the right process, tools and frameworks for application development, maintenance and service delivery.

Automated Software Engineering

The research focus is on enabling automation in Java enterprise application development and maintenance through creation of tools and techniques for model-driven development, software factories, code generation, code analysis, architecture recovery, program comprehension, etc. to significantly increase productivity, predictability and maintainability.

Application Transformation

The rapid evolution of Java technology and the fast changing product portfolio and services offerings necessitate applications to undergo continuous change to sustain and deliver business value. The research focus is on enabling seamless transformation of your application portfolio to and across Java enterprise technology platforms.

Enterprise Transformation

With businesses undergoing continuous transformation, it is imperative that their IT aligns fast with the growing business needs. Our research focuses on aligning Business and IT strategies through structured enterprise architecture methodologies, and adoption of SOA, Web 2.0, SaaS and Social commerce within the enterprise.

Grid computing enables service-oriented, flexible, seamless sharing of a heterogeneous network of resources for compute and data intensive tasks. It has captured the High Performance Computing space by better exploiting existing computing resources while reducing administrative overheads related to managing distributed information systems.
Grid computing enables enterprises to:

  • Drive down maintenance cos
  • Reduce the load on backend systems
  • Better manage operations by eliminating the clutter of vendor products
  • Make decisions based on data from multiple and disparate sources more quickly

The Grid Computing Center of Excellence (CoE) at Digilabs, Digitech' research group, pursues projects in multiple areas. The CoE’s vision is to create an adaptive services Grid through service-oriented architectural constructs and platform

Grid Computing is a conglomeration of different technologies, work on distributed and high performance computing in the past has contributed significantly to the development of distributed resource sharing. Newer technologies like P2P and distributed shared memory model have paved way for a resource sharing platform over heterogeneous resources. The combination of web services and virtualization, results in a robust distributed computing and resource sharing platform over heterogeneous resources.

Performance and Scalability

With the exponential growth of transactions, backend systems face performance and scalability issues. Research is focused on improving performance and scalability of legacy systems.

Management and Flexibility

The IT landscape is getting increasingly complex with multiple products and open source components. The CoE develops solutions to flexibly manage heterogeneous IT assets in the enterprise.

Infrastructure Utilization and Consolidation

Maintenance costs continue to rise as servers and products get hosted in data centers to cater to diverse business needs and increasing business volume. Research focuses on infrastructure management solutions to improve resource utilization and consolidate workload on fewer enterprise servers.

Information Virtualization

As data is disparate and heterogeneous, virtual zing information is critical for enterprise-wide access to real-time information. The focus is on developing innovative Enterprise Information Integration solutions by harnessing the power of data grids to achieve scalable data integration.
